My name is Dean Bales and back in the 90's... I was shot nine times and left for dead as a result of my drug dealing. Today, I am a drug and alcohol
counselor in southern california. If you made it this far to my website, then you, or possibly somebody
you know, might have a problem with drugs or alcohol addiction... or maybe you're just wondering what this website is all about?
It's about three things!
1. Helping addicts and alcoholics find sobriety as a wonderful way of life!
2. Helping them to understand that there is life after addiction.
3. To help promote my book on addiction and spirituality, which supports my ministry of sending books into our prisons, jails and juvenile halls!
I feel it is up to us, to help our fellow addicted friends and family find the sobriety that they were hopefully, but not necessarily, born with.
This book is excellent reading for your kids (No cuss words) to read and see how drugs get you started, how they take control of your life,
and where you eventually end up if you continue to use them. It's even better for addicts to read and see the steps it takes to get &
keep a clean & sober and joyful life!
This is a non-profit ministry! Dedicated to helping addicts & alcoholics find sobriety as the wonderfull way of life that it is. Although,
not to my surprise, my book is now helping non-alcoholics & non-addicts as well!
For every book sold, one is donated into our prisons, jails and juvenile halls. This is another one of God's plans for bringing help for
addiction with spirituality into our jails & intuitions, where it's needed most!

WHO AM I
I hate meetings. I hate Higher Power. I hate anyone who has a program. To all who come in contact with me, I wish you death and I wish you suffering.
Allow me to introduce myself; I am the disease of addiction. Cunning, Baffling, and Powerful! That’s me. I have killed millions, and I am pleased.
I love to catch you with the element of surprise. I love pretending I am your friend and lover. I have given you comfort, have
I not?....... Wasn’t I there when you were lonely? When you wanted to die, didn’t you call me? I was there. I love to make you hurt,
I love to make you cry. And better yet, I love when I make you so numb, that you can neither hurt nor cry. You can’t feel anything at all.
This for me is true glory. I will give you instant gratification and all I ask of you is long suffering. I’ve been there for you always.
When things were going right in your life, you invited me. You said you didn’t deserve these good things, and I was the only one who agreed
with you. Together, we were able to destroy all things good in your life.
People don’t take me seriously. They take Strokes seriously, Heart Attacks seriously, even Diabetes they take seriously. Fools that you are,
you don’t know that without help, these things would not be made possible.
I am such a hated disease, and yet I do not come uninvited. You choose to have me, so many have chosen me over reality and peace.
More than you hate me. I hate all of you who have a twelve step program. Your programs, your meetings, your Higher Power; all weaken me
and I cannot function in the manner I am accustomed to.
Now I must lie quietly. You don’t see me, but I am here, growing bigger and stronger than ever. When you only exist, I can live. When you
live, I can only exist. But I am here……and until we meet again, if we meet again…..I wish you death and suffering.
